Werewolf without a narrator: let your phone run the night

In classic werewolf one person has to narrate and can’t play. Cards go missing, and you can hear who opens their eyes at night. In VampireVote’s in-person mode the phones do that work: everybody plays and nobody can cheat.

How it works

  1. Create a room and pick “In person”. The host chooses the mode in the settings and sets the number of vampires, the Doctor and the Seer.
  2. Everyone joins on their own phone. Type the room code or scan the QR code on the host’s screen.
  3. Peek at your role. Tap your card, see your role and press “Got it”. Your role stays hidden on screen; tapping “My role” shows it for 2.5 seconds so your neighbour can’t see it.
  4. Night: the host’s phone can narrate the night out loud. Everyone makes a choice on their phone at the same time; villagers pick the player they suspect, so tapping your phone gives nothing away. Vampires see each other’s picks, and the night ends when they agree.
  5. Day: the night’s victim is revealed and the discussion timer starts. The host can end the discussion early.
  6. Vote on your phones. The result appears on every screen, then a new night begins.

Why phones instead of cards?

What you need

Each player needs a phone with an internet connection. There is no app to install and no account to create; the game opens in the browser. For the spoken narration, keep the host’s phone volume up.
